This little piggy should be worried this week, when three of Edmonton’s best food trucks roll up with their best pulled pork on offer.
What: Truck Stop: Throwdown Edition
When: Wednesday, August 15, 2012
Where: Edmonton Public Schools Archives (10425 99 Avenue)
Time: 5-8pm
Join us on Wednesday as we determine which truck serves up the best pulled pork sandwich. To vote, we ask that you donate at least $2 to the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation in exchange for a ballot.
To make sure you’ll have enough room to try all three, the trucks will be selling slider-sized portions of their sandwiches. Make sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment!
May I present the three competitors:
“We slow roast our pork butt for 12 hours in a seasoned jus, add our special house made BBQ sauce, then top with a pile of our own mini crispy onions served on a buttery brioche bun. Perfectly simple. Perfectly delicious.”
“Our pork comes from a locally produced heritage breed of pork, that is butchered in-house and slow smoked over maple wood. The pork shoulder is pulled when tender, lightly seasoned and tossed in our house-made bbq sauce. Finally, it is topped with our German-style caraway slaw and put into a freshly-baked crusty roll.”
“We start with prime Alberta pork, lovingly rubbed with our magic Smokehouse pork rub. The pork is slow smoked for 12 hours over apple wood, hand pulled and tossed with our Raspberry Chipolte BBQ sauce. The pork is served on a fresh Vienna Baker roll, finished with apple vinegar coleslaw, caramalized onions and, yes, Smokehouse LOVE.”
The trucks will also have a few other offerings for those who may not want to indulge in pulled pork.
