It was another windy day, but that didn’t stop street food-loving Edmontonians on Thursday!
Three trucks ended up selling out of food, so for next week, to guarantee a sample of the dish you have your eye on, make sure to come early. See you this Thursday!
We’re excited to finally announce the second What the Truck?! event to take place this summer:
What: What the Truck?!, Edmonton’s food truck extravaganza
When: Friday, August 3, 2012
Where: Victoria Promenade (100 Avenue, south of Jasper and 121 Street – very limited parking, so walk, bike, or ride transit!)
Time: 5-9pm
We like to move the events around as much as possible, and in the process highlight locations in Edmonton that we think should be more prominent. In this case, we’d like to serve up a river valley view with your food, from one of our favourite vantage points in the city.
Most importantly, we have a great line-up of trucks:
We wouldn’t have been able to offer this event on our own – thanks to the Oliver Community League for stepping up and supporting us from the beginning. We know that good partners are hard to find, so we really appreciate their help!

Our last Truck Stop at McIntyre Park in Old Strathcona was a success! While the crowds on June 27, 2012 may not have been as generous as events in previous weeks, the sun was out, and people were enjoying the opportunity to have a picnic dinner.
Thanks to the Old Strathcona Business Association and Kathy Stanley, the City’s Vending Coordinator, we were able to host eight Truck Stops in the neighbourhood in May and June. And given the response of people overall, we think it proves that the appetite for food trucks isn’t confined to downtown!
