We’re thrilled to announce our next event – What the Truck?! is coming to Northlands! Here are the details:
What: What the Truck?!
Where: Northlands Park (7410 Borden Park Road NW, Edmonton, AB)
When: Friday, July 10, 2015
RSVP on Facebook!
This event will also be a first in What the Truck?! history. Northlands Park is a family-friendly licensed venue (similar to local restaurants), so you will be able to enjoy an adult beverage with your food truck eats!
If you’re still hoping to bring your little ones, the event grounds are all-ages, but if you wish to keep them separated from the rest, don’t worry – there will also be designated alcohol-free space.
Stay tuned for more information about participating trucks, menus, and site map information!
Whenever we host a What the Truck?! event the number one concern is always lines. But what if there was a way for you to skip the lines and enjoy your favourite food truck food unencumbered by lineups? A way for you to place your order right away, and eat before anyone else?
Enter the What the Truck?! Golden Ticket.
The Golden Ticket will be awarded to two lucky winners at the end of this season, for use at the last event of 2015 in Churchill Square. Each winner can bring a friend and enjoy a 20 minute head start on the event by being able to order from their favourite food trucks and skip the lines.

With 25 trucks in Saturday’s event, there are over 100 menu items to choose from! To make it easier for you to navigate through the crowds and plan your attack, we have created a downloadable menu and sitemap. For more details on the menu items, visit our menus post here.
To make the most of your time at What the Truck?!, we recommend checking out our Tips and Tricks and FAQ. Don’t see a question you have in there? Comment below and one of our team members will be happy to answer you.
Our What the Truck?! team members will also be on site wearing royal blue T-shirts with our logos on it. Feel free to stop us to ask any questions you may have. Our DJ will be providing music to entertain your families while you munch on some tasty food.
Need some cash? We will have an ATM on site located near the DJ (see sitemap). First Aid is also available.
Finally, tag us in your photos on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #whatthetruck! We’d love to see what you’re eating.
Hope to see you all on Saturday!
*Edit: Menu has been updated (May 22).
If you love food trucks and attending food events and have thought about getting involved to become more than an attendee, then you might be interested in joining the What the Truck?! organizing committee!
We’re looking for a few additional members to pitch in with the coordination of our 2015 season and beyond. Some of the responsibilities include:
- Liaising with food vendors
- Event planning
- Assisting with event promotion, primarily through social media
- Day-of site setup, troubleshooting and clean-up
- Management of online presence
- Coordinating volunteers
- Working with partners and sponsors
- Financial management
While the festival season for us runs May through September, we’re already in planning mode. The time commitment is approximately 5-10 hours per month in February to April and 15-20 hours during festival season.
If you’re interested, please send us an e-mail by March 4, 2015 with answers to the following questions:
- Why do you want to join the What the Truck?! organizing committee?
- What skills and experiences can you offer the team?
- Have you ever been to a What the Truck?! event? What suggestions do you have for us?
Someone will be in touch with you after March 4.
Thanks for your interest!
